While in Bombay, a doctor who is a disciple of Srila Gurudeva came to ask him some questions about Vilapa Kusumanjali by Srila Raghunath dasa Goswami. No sooner had he mentioned the name of this book, Srila Gurudeva asked him: "Have you read Upadesamrta ?" "Yes," the doctor replied. "No," Srila Gurudeva answered. "You have not read it." "Yes, I have," insisted the doctor. "I purchased your edition and read it." "Then tell me what is the first sloka , verse?" Srila Gurudeva asked. "Well," said the doctor. "I have read the book, but I can't remember the verse." "You say, you have read it, " Srila Gurudeva replied. But what is the use if you cannot remember the verses? How many rounds do you chant?" A very long time ago, His Holiness BP Hrishikesh Maharaja told me about his conversation he had with his Guru Maharaja Srila Bhakti Promode Puri Maharaja about politicians. (Srila BP Puri Maharaja): When you see a politician, you run. (His Holiness BP Hrishkesh Maharaja): Can't I even help them. Perhaps to chant or something? (Srila BP Puri Maharaja): No. You just RUN!! * Food for thought* Politicians have twisted tongues. One moment they say one thing and the very next second they change their statement. It is our best interest to simply run away. They are only out there for their own selfish interest. So beware!!!!

There are times when I'm at my wits ends trying to follow the instructions of my Srila Gurudeva . He has ordered me to preach and blogging and the Internet is one tool I feel I can reach out to many people out there. Besides, I've also came up with ways to put the maha -mantra in a visible way so that people will take notice. For example, I've a key-chain with a beautiful picture of the Divine Couple. At the back of the key-chain the maha -mantra is printed. As I tutor for a living, I sometimes on purpose put the key-chain on my table so that my students ranging from the ages 10 - 17 will take note of it. They will usually look at the picture and sometimes may chant the maha -mantra. Some even queried me for being a vegetarian. Srila Gurudeva mentioned to Sripad BV Vaishnava Maharaja that He would like to put all his disciples in His pocket and take them on a world tour. At a recent darshan in Desaru a devotee mentioned to Srila Gurudeva that ghosts are disturbing and the devotee is very much disturbed. Below is an insight of the conversation that transpired between the devotee and Srila Gurudeva . (Devotee): I feel something of someone touching me. I want to know what it is? ( Srila Gurudeva ): Are you chanting your rounds? (Devotee): Yes ( Srila Gurudeva ) I don't believe. If anyone is chanting and remembering, then no ghost will harm them. Now say after me. On the morning of 21st February, Srila Maharaja went to the house of Bal Kishen prabhu and Krsna-priya didi to their new house. Below is His short and sweet lecture. ( Srila Maharaja ): I have come to remind you this. Always follow the instructions of Sri Guru. Chant harinama and your diksha mantras, morning, noon and at evening time. If you go to school and you do not follow your teacher, then, you are sure to fail. In a family, if there is a son, then he must be a pure devotee. A kanishta adhikari can liberate 7 generations of his family members from previous births, a madhayama adhikari liberates 14 and an uttama 21. For a family who is not in Krsna consciousness, having a son is like urine. Sripad BV Madhava Maharaja speaking on the importance of sadhu- sanga . On 21st February 2009, Srila Maharaja gave a wonderful lecture on the importance of sadhu- sanga and why sadhus (sages) are travelling all around the world. Srila Maharaja called upon some of his disciples to talk about the subject matter--- 'the glories of sadhu- sanga ' (associating with holy sages). One of them even mentioned that although many countries are inviting Srila Maharaja , His Divine Grace very mercifully has come to Malaysia many times.
